Rancho Bernardo Continues Fire Recovery
January 6th, 2008 Categories: 4S Ranch, Del Sur, Rancho Bernardo, Real Estate News
The inland corridor and Rancho Bernardo in particular continue to recover from the October 2007 wildfires. Residents burned by the fires are completing their architectural plans, shopping home builders, and working with their insurance companies in their daily effort to get back to normalcy. It’s truly a test for families who must face all of life’s daily challenges as well as starting from scratch.
The City Council is also trying to move forward and finish projects already in the works prior to the fires. Expected in early 2008 will be the passage of the updated general plan. “An area of particular importance to Rancho Bernardo is the addition of’ ‘prime industrial lands’ designations” said Ellen Willis, chairwoman of the Rancho Bernardo Planning Board.
Other committee challenges moving forward will be Public Safety Committee and the CERT training program, local Neighborhood Watch groups meeting with Fire and Police officials to enhance their systems and create more local awareness as well as several others.
While there is no doubt that Rancho Bernardo is moving forward rapidly because of the spirit and togetherness of the residents, it’s obvious that these efforts will take years to fully yield the end result of returning Rancho Bernardo to what it always has been, a premier place to live.

Carmel Valley Agents Run Ocean Air School Book Drive
December 27th, 2007 Categories: 4S Ranch, Community Events, Del Sur, Poway, Rancho Bernardo, Real Estate News
Windermere Agents in Carmel Valley took it upon themselves to run a book drive for E. Ocean Air Elementary School. They passed out thousands of fliers, hung posters have in the neighborhood stores and are spreading the word to their clients. The Windermere agents are eager to contribute to the new schools needs and hope the book they are donating helps the children gain an interest in reading.

“Children are trying to identify themselves by something or somebody. In healthy books, good morals win in the end,” said Windermere agent and book drive promoter, Shapar Ostovar. “Instead of TV, good books will help them grow.”
The participating agents are impressed with the high quality of books being donated. “We received a variety of genres from fairy tales to science fiction,” said Ostovar. “Included in the science fiction genre is an autographed copy of the book Touchdown MARS! Author Ken Edgett dedicated the book to the children of the E. Ocean Air Elementary School.”
Agents will continue to collect books and are happily accepting donations from the community. If you have any new or used books that would be appropriate for grades K - 6, please contact Shapar Ostovar to arrange a pick-up or drop-off.
You can reach us at 877-571-2289 for more information or drop off the books yourself to any Windermere office.
