Windermere Assumes Ownership of McMillin Realty Offices in Rancho Bernardo and Carlsbad
March 28th, 2009 Categories: 4S Ranch, Agents, Carlsbad, Del Sur, Rancho Bernardo, Real Estate News, Santa Fe Valley
In a dramatic move that supports each of their company’s needs, Windermere Exclusive Properties is assuming ownership and operations of two McMillin Realty offices located in North County.
The agreement came as a collaborative effort by Scott McMillin, President of McMillin Realty and Steve Rodgers, the new President of Windermere Exclusive Properties who are long time colleagues and have run competing real estate agencies for over a decade.
With an eye toward expansion, Windermere Exclusive Properties President, Steve Rodgers, along with partners Mark Loscher and Jim Browne, the broker of record, came to a mutual agreement with Scott McMillin and have assumed operations of the two offices.
April 1st marks the official transition of ownership at both the Rancho Bernardo and Carlsbad offices as Scott McMillin passes the baton to Steve Rodgers.
The month of April will be the transition month and by May 1st, they hope to have the new team together and settled in.
In a twist of fate, Windermere Exclusive Properties President Steve Rodgers had been looking to expand while Scott McMillin was looking to reduce their footprint in San Diego real estate and focus specifically on the South Bay Market.
“The decision will afford us an opportunity to focus our financial and personnel resources to the South County real estate market where our roots began and where we have the largest real estate presence for both McMillin Realty and also our home building operations,” said Scott McMillin. “It will allow us to protect, defend and eventually grow again in the South County.”
McMillin was originally concerned with the future of his agents at the existing locations as many have been with McMillin Realty for over 15 years. Steve Rodgers has assured McMillin that all agents have the opportunity to maintain their position within their desired location and in fact would prefer they join Windermere Exclusive Properties as they continue to expand.
“It isn’t our goal to remove agents from a competitive market. It’s our goal to expand and offer them an opportunity to join an agent-centric company that utilizes some very progressive marketing tools,” said Steve Rodgers.
“I would like to formally welcome all McMillin Realty agents to the Windermere Exclusive Property Team. My personal opinion of this team has always been high and I know they are more than capable of producing sales and attracting listings. I have admired their success for years and I know this is a dedicated group of individuals with the experience and personal touch needed to succeed in today’s market.”
In a statement prepared by Scott McMillin to his agents he said “I believe his (Steve Rodgers) experience, knowledge, commitment, strong leadership and sphere of influence teamed up with your continued support and confidence will strongly benefit you as agents and your customers. Together I believe you will have many future successes.”

Windermere San Diego announces its 2008 Management Team
January 22nd, 2008 Categories: Agents
Windermere Exclusive Properties is ringing in the New Year with intensified agent services. We have restructured our management team for 2008 and are ready to offer our agents increased support, complimentary coaching, exceptional training and exciting new marketing tools.
For most San Diego real estate professionals, 2007 was a year full of challenges. That’s why we use a unique management style with multiple levels of support to ensure that our agents have the best resources at their fingertips. Whatever situation may arise – from a credit crisis to a wild fire or a correcting market place – we want our agents to know that we are there for them.
“Teamwork is a fundamental part of the way Windermere conducts business,” said Windermere President, Mark Loscher. “We believe that by working together our output will always be greater and the quality of our already outstanding services will continue to improve”
Each of Windermere Exclusive Properties five San Diego offices has a team of management, marketing, and administrative professionals ready to assist agents and clients. In addition, the company conducts on-going weekly training classes that are available to agents in every office.
“Our goal is to use our combined talents to support Windermere agents more efficiently and more effectively, in our constant quest to provide exceptional service to our clients” said Loscher.
This year’s educational calendar will feature popular classes and Top Agent Panels from past years, and an infusion of training sessions on the industry’s latest marketing and technology. Agents can expect a host of new tools, lead generation plans, and interactive recorded training sessions that can be viewed from anywhere over the internet.
Other improved agent services include a mentoring program and a complimentary coaching program. Windermere agents can enjoy one-on-one sessions with experienced managers who coach them on writing business plans, generating leads and much more. The Mentorship program allows newer agents to work with seasoned professionals within the company in a mutually advantageous relationship.
Windermere continues to offer a non-corporate environment for agents and, despite its growth, maintains a family-like atmosphere. Every agent has access to all five offices, giving them a solid support system designed to fit their needs and the needs of their clients.
“Last year was a great year for Windermere. We substantially increased production, hired a lot of excellent agents and invested in new technologies,” said Loscher. “With the best people and the best tools in place, I am looking forward to making 2008 our most successful year yet.”
