Windermere Foundation Donations are Up 42% Since Last Year
April 30th, 2010 Categories: Real Estate News
Did you know that Windermere agents donate $10 out of every real estate transaction to the Windermere Foundation? And even though we are experiencing challenging economic times, that generosity is still going strong.
In fact, Windermere agents are giving more than ever!
Because of you and the fantastic support the Windermere Foundation has received so far this year, we disbursed over $268,000 to qualifying social service organizations dedicated to serving low-income and homeless families throughout the West.
Times are tough for many and yet the amazing agents and staff at Windermere and our public supporters keep giving to others in our community. Gifts to the Foundation during the first quarter of 2010 are up 42% compared to this time last year! With 55% of Foundation revenue coming from over-and-above donations and 45% from transaction fee revenue, I’d say you’re generosity is creating a great start to the new year for many low-income and homeless families.
Here are a few letters from the recipient organizations illustrating how that support can really make a difference in lives of those they serve.
San Diego Community Resource Center
We all THANK YOU very much again for this incredible food donation. The Windermere group brought in enough food to provide nearly 100 local families with an emergency food box supplement for the month. This donation means so much as people continue to lose their jobs and struggle to make ends meet
Windermere Kids at the YMCA
Thank you for your donation in support of the Windermere Kids at the Y program. This partnership has been such a boon to our program and we are grateful for the support of all the Windermere agents and employees. During this time of economic hardship impacting the lives of so many of our neighbors, it has been more important than ever to have the valuable partnership with the Windermere Foundation. Because of your generosity we have been able to provide more scholarships for low-income families who can benefit from the Y’s after-school programs.
Harrison Park School
We want to thank the Windermere Foundation for your wonderful donation to our ‘Backpack Friday’ project at Harrison Park School. It is so nice of your company to support our Backpack Friday project! We were so thrilled to receive your donation for our families. Those who organized the project really appreciate having such wonderful people in our community who help with the program here at Harrison Park School.

Start The Year Off By Giving Back To Our Communities
January 28th, 2008 Categories: Community Events
When I selected the company I was to hang my license with, I wanted to choose an organization that felt that giving back to the community I worked in was just as important as profitability (well, at least
close).
Windermere’s commitment to serving the community goes beyond providing buyers and sellers the best in real estate services. Every time a Windermere sales associate sells a home, a portion of the commission goes to the Windermere Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to giving back to local charities. I also provide an additional donation to “Project Talk“, a local organization dedicated to the deaf and hard of hearing children of San Diego County.
“At Windermere, every transaction counts,” said Windermere co-owner Jim Browne. “I’m proud to be part of a company that places such a high value on giving back to the community. And I am even more proud at how our agents embrace the spirit of giving back.”
On top of the money donated from every real estate transaction made through Windermere, my fellow agents participate in numerous events in the community. This past year you could find Escondido agents sitting outside their office on Friday nights working at Cruisin’ Grand, our Friday night classic car extravaganza that draws crowds of 10,000 plus to the downtown area. We also hosted a mobile blood drive, gave mini concerts and hawked hot dogs and water bottles.
As a result of Windermere’s efforts, Browne and Escondido Branch Manager Ron Brownell were able to make a sizeable donation to the local charity Rebuild Escondido, an organization established to assist fire victims in the Escondido area.
Meanwhile, Windermere agents from the Carmel Valley office organized a book drive to help build the library at the new East Ocean Air Elementary School. Realtors Shapar Ostovar, Jean Wilson, Peggy Chomas and Dara Chantarit, who coordinated the book drive, collected nearly 500 books for the school.
Contributions from Windermere agents and the public have allowed Windermere to distribute more than two million dollars annually in recent years. Windermere started 2008 by giving and looks forward to another year of enriching lives in our communities.
So when you are thinking about who you would like to represent you in buying or selling your next home, choose a Realtor who not only knows the community, but also gives back to the community.
